Video: Farmer Dave & The Wizards of the West “Cave Walls”

‘Cave Walls’ is psychedelic fever dream of a song, propelled by a trance-like rhythm, a powerful bass-line and layers of atmospheric keys.  Stunning guitar work lets the song fly, soaring into space and filling the void.  Dave Scher’s echoing vocal is at once warm and vulnerable and he takes us with him on a flight through his cosmic imagination.

A member of the gorgeous-sounding Beachwood Sparks, one half of All Night Radio and a side-man for the likes of Kurt Vile & The Violators, Elvis Costello and Chris Robinson, many fans will be familiar with the haunting sound of Dave Scher’s pedal steel, lap steel and electric guitar.  Now, Farmer Dave Scher has just released his first album for ten years and his first with his new band The Wizards of the West.  The self-titled debut album is a cosmic journey though a range of influences, loose and hypnotic.  ‘Cave Walls’ is an early highlight on an album full of absorbing music to lose yourself in.  This is a captivating song from an artist whose work is full of adventure.
