Robert Vincent’s latest single, ‘The Hard Way’, follows a headline tour and three shows supporting the legendary Robert Plant. Beginning with a light, strum, ‘The Hard Way’ grows into a powerfully emotive song, featuring one of Vincent’s best vocal performances to date. His singing is heartfelt and follows a gorgeously tuneful journey through his intimate lyrics.
Vincent says of writing ‘The Hard Way’: “If you’ve ever found yourself in the destructive situation of a relationship going wrong, where it seems the hardest route is the path always being taken, it’s tough to find the positives. ‘The Hard Way’ talks of breaking down the ‘Barriers’ in the eternal hope of a more peaceful and settled future with less conflict.”
The single is from Vincent’s forthcoming new album, ‘Barriers’, which is due on 21st June 2024 via Thirty Tigers. He says of the album: “‘Barriers’ has more of an intimate sound. The songs began to take shape during lockdown through to 2022 and are born from testing personal experiences, rather than the pure social commentary of the last album. This is a very inward set of songs, but I think it will resonate with people facing their own demons.” Indeed, the new material does resonate – the singles released so far suggest that this will be an album-of-the-year contender and a fine follow up to the AMAUK Award-winning album ‘In This Town You’re Owned’. Compelling stuff.
Fantastic song.
