Here’s the latest single from alt-country band Steady Habits. With a forceful beat, bright guitar and a touch of harmonica, ‘Stay’ is an immediate, catchy song that will have you humming along. New England’s Sean Duggan’s words flow, ideas and lines blurring together as his voice follows a memorably tuneful path.
Duggan says of the song: “‘Stay’ is a song that feels deeply nostalgic to me. It draws on some dating experience in my late adolescence, while also capturing the blend of sounds that take me back to being a kid in the late ’90s and early ’00s, listening to artists like Alanis Morrisette and Weezer. There’s a certain energy and emotional rawness in the lyrics and the music that feels like a reflection of that time when everything felt intense and all-consuming.”
‘Stay’ is our first taste of music from the band’s forthcoming new album “Deviate”. As well as touring around the country and appearing at various festivals, including Maverick, Black Deer and Truck Festival, Steady Habits recently showcased at the 2025 Americana Music Week in London. The band have also supported the likes of Our Man in the Field, The Hanging Stars and Morganway. Steady Habits are steadily building a reputation as a fine live act with well-crafted and catchy, melodic songs. Enjoy this video and look out for the new album later in the year.
