Well that’s it from us for another week – if you’re an AUK supporter, your playlist will be with you at 5pm! We leave you dear reader with a song from Midwest singer-songwriter Trevor Sensor which I was discussing with our Videos Editor earlier this week. It came to mind because the artist has returned recently with a new single which we ran a couple of weeks ago, and I’d forgotten that we’d actually premiered the track ‘Chiron, Galactus’ back in 2021 (anything during the pandemic may as well be a century ago). For me, it’s up there in the top five songs we’ve ever premiered on the site and the video is just incredibly emotive too.
Sensor explained at the time the themes of the movie and song: “It functions as this perfect allegory of the dichotomy between those who want to be left alone, and those who can’t leave people alone. Red and Mandy are just trying to get on with their lives peacefully in the woods away from everybody, and these Jesus Freaks and Acid Cannibals barge in destroying their world because of one guy’s fragile ego. That’s pretty much the catalyst to all the problems of the world if you think about it. Those who seek to impose their Will upon others are often the worst of us, because it’s a reflection upon their own character – their insecurity with their own existence. They feel the need to master others because they can’t master themselves.” If you’ve never checked him out, settle down for 4 minutes with a brew or preferably a stiff drink. Sensor has a new album out over the summer called “A Few Tears of Eros”, due for release on 8th August 2025.
Take care everyone, don’t forget Palestine and keep fighting the fascists. Have a good one.
Since this song has come out I have LOVED it. I CANNOT wait for the new album!!!
