Video: The Winnie Blues “Little Pressures”

Sometimes you just need to find a quiet spot on your own, loosen your tie and dance.  Beginning with a steady strum, a powerful beat kicks in along with a throbbing bass and then ‘Little Pressures’ becomes one of those songs that makes you tap your feet and lose yourself in the upbeat melody and purposeful, pulsing rhythm.  The song is about the emotional challenges of living abroad, far from family and friends.  There are highs and lows and the complexities of long-distance relationships must be navigated.  Ultimately, ‘Little Pressures’ recognises the need to be kind to yourself, to slow down and take some time.

It’s heartfelt, earnest and, above all, beautifully crafted and sung by Americana-duo The Winnie Blues, also-known-as Alice Beatty and Cameron Potts.  The Australian pair met by chance in New York before each moving independently to Nashville and hooking up again.  Fate threw them together but their talent and sumptuous harmonies sustain their musical relationship.  ‘Little Pressures’ is the second single from the pair’s upcoming debut album.  This is one to watch out for.
