Check out the latest single from acclaimed singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman. ‘Love’, originally written and performed by US artist Sara Groves, is an exploration of the deepest of emotions. Chapman’s version is truly heartfelt, her vocal delivery full of feeling over rich, sonorous instrumentation. Chapman explains: “The simplicity and elegance melodically and lyrically of this song is so powerful to me. It is a song about resilience which seems to be a theme for me in my songwriting as I work through stuff and try to make sense of it all. ‘Love’ feels like it was written for me to sing, especially during these days of healing not only my grief, but as a part of all humanity in a time of collective grief. There’s nothing more powerful than a song that touches deeply into well of our experiences of sadness and loss, but also carries within it the light of hope as this song does.”
Chapman is an incredibly accomplished songwriter, whose work has been covered by the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, Keb’ Mo and Elton John. Back in 1999, Chapman was nominated for a GRAMMY for her song ‘This Kiss’ which was performed by Faith Hill. She continues to deliver well-crafted songs of the highest quality.
‘Love’ has quickly followed recent single ‘Back To This Moment’. Both releases were a surprise ahead of a series of summer shows. Look out for Chapman on tour in the UK, beginning on 2nd August 2023 in Lyme Regis – tickets are available here. Last year, Chapman’s 22-night headline tour of the UK received critical acclaim, as did her album ‘CrazyTown’, which reached number 1 on the UK’s official country chart. In our tremendous 10/10 review, we called ‘CrazyTown’, “…a strong contender for album of the year.” Check out the review here and enjoy the new singles.
