The new single from Amanda Grace is a gently rhythmic, upbeat song that offers hope through the power of love. In ‘Give Me Away’, Grace’s voice is immediately intimate and warm, perfect for the personal reflections and questions she asks of herself: “Can I be every little thing // That everyone else needs?” The song’s theme is about the positivity of human relationships – when we give of ourselves, it reinforces the goodness in others and enriches their lives. Grace explains: “Everyone experiences pain, or feels lost at times. Yet there are moments when the universe reveals a path of connection and purpose. I believe we all have the power to give, and in giving, we often find healing for ourselves and others.”
This is the title track from Grace’s new album, which features a blend of folk, Americana and pop sounds. The songs cover a range of themes, from unselfconscious love to toxic relationships and searching for greater purpose in life. ‘Give Me Away’, Grace’s eighth album, was produced by Matt Patrick of The Library of Minneapolis and features a host of talented musicians, including Noah Levy, Steve Bosmans and Ian Allison. Whether performing solo, with the Amanda Grace band or with folk group Wildflower, her work is driven by melody and heartfelt lyrics. Enjoy.
