Following 2023’s sell-out, The Long Road festival returns to the picturesque grounds of Stanford Hall in Leicestershire over the August bank holiday weekend this year from 23rd to 25th August.  The festival has a track record of putting on the finest country, Americana, roots, rock and folk stars and 2024 is setting up to do just that. The first names for 2024 have now been announced with the emphasis on more mainstream country acts but of the first batch of notable americana inclusions are stalwarts American Aquarium, honky-tonkers Red Clay Strays, the twang of Randall King and the country soul rush that is Brittney Spencer whose debut was reviewed recently on AUK.

The Long Road has also announced performances from the contemporary indie americana act Andrew Combs, Emmy award-winner Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors, and Illinois poet Pokey Lafarge.  The festival has a fascinating record of stage takeovers with days from Loose Music and Color Me Country (curated by Rissi Palmer). Down in the smaller print is an array of artists who will raise plenty of excitement among AUK readers such as Adeem the Artist, Kassi Valazza,  S.G. Goodman, and Vincent Neil Emerson.

The Long Road also acts as a showcase for UK country and americana acts and the initial announcement lists Norwich country rockers Brown Horse, modern folk artist Clara Mann, British-American actress and singer-songwriter Lola Kirke, and Birmingham duo My Darling Clementine.

Commenting on today’s announcement, TLR’s Tennessee-born Creative Director Baylen Leonard said:   “We couldn’t be happier with how this year’s line-up is shaping up, and can’t wait to welcome this growing community home to The Long Road again this August, after last year’s sell out. The countdown to TLR 5 begins!”

Due to popular demand, The Long Road has increased the camping capacity for 2024, giving more people the chance to spend their bank holiday weekend in the lovely grounds of Stanford Hall. You can find all the details you need on both weekend and camping tickets by heading to the festival’s official website here.
