Ani DiFranco’s latest album ‘Unprecedented Sh!t’ is being heralded by a pair of singles ‘The Thing At Hand‘ and the song we’re featuring today ‘New Bible.’ It’s a song which depicts a way of living that stands aside from relentless consumerism and envisages making a choice to “mend the failures of the profit system / let’s rewrite the law books / quit following the path of least resistance / cuz that’s what makes the river crooked.” It is a call, then, to both individual and collective bravery.
‘Unprecedented Sh!t’ – unsurprisingly – is an album of political comment. It is Ani DiFranco’s 23rd release, and will be available 12th July via her own Righteous Babe Records.
