artwork Sunny Sweeney Still ProvokedSunny Sweeney, the country and americana singer-songwriter, who hails from Texas but is currently based in Nashville, is no stranger to music fans this side of the Atlantic.  Since the impact of her debut in 2006 with the acclaimed “Heartbreaker’s Hall of Fame” and attendant radio coverage from Whisperin’ Bob Harris amongst others her progress has been followed with interest. Sweeney has just announced the 10th-anniversary release of her album “Provoked”. With a new name “Still Provoked”, the record will be out on 30th August 2024 via Thirty Tigers and will be available for the very first time on vinyl.

“Still Provoked” features reimagined versions of all 13 tracks on the original album plus two new, previously unheard songs: ‘My Own Lane’ and a cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘To Be Alone With You’. The 15-track release will be available on digital, CD and as a limited-edition double LP.  You can pre-save / pre-order it here. The first single, ‘My Own Lane’ – a co-write with Natalie Hemby – has been released and you can listen to it below.

Sweeney has also made good on her promise from last year’s tour and will return to the UK, where she is building a growing audience, in November 2024.

Tour dates are as follows:

5 Nov – Southampton, 1865
6 Nov – Stowmarket, John Peel Arts Centre
8 Nov – Shrewsbury, St Marys
9 Nov – Leek, Foxlowe Arts Centre
11 Nov – Edinburgh, Voodoo Rooms
12 Nov – Glasgow, Slay
13 Nov – Lincoln, The Drill
14 Nov – Birmingham, Kitchen Garden Café
15 Nov – Bury, The Met
17 Nov – London, The Lexington

Tickets can be obtained from Sweeney’s tour page.

Sunny is great live as well. Wisecracking Texan with a great band. I’ll be at the Lexington to see her.
