Ann Liu Cannon “Letters” – better in the written word

On “Letters“, the somewhat rabbit-obsessed Ann Liu Cannon admits that “I’m better at letters, ‘cos letters can’t talk back, so neither can you, so I can stay here, hands on my ears, avoiding the truth.” Yeah, we’ve got to admit that that’s rather relatable. There is a realisation, though, that maybe in the real world, in a real relationship, it might just be necessary to…converse. Also relatable.

‘Letters’ is the follow-up bonus track to Ann Liu Cannon’s debut album “Clever Rabbits“, released today. The single, that is, the album was released on 11th July this year. We went to launch party, you remember. It was great. And the self-released debut has done pretty well so far – it came in at #13 on the Official UK Folk Charts, #20 Independent Album Breakers, #28 Record Store, and #78 Independent Album Charts on its release month this year.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
