Now, we’re dipping into the postbag, and thank you, Americana UK readers, for being so loyal to the analogue world. We appreciate every handwritten letter, even more so when it has clearly been produced with the aid of a quill pen and an inkpot. Good on ya’. Anyway, rummaging through that mail sack, we find a request for something a little bit more relaxing and country ballad-like than the kind of tunes we are wont to feature. I guess that implied complaint is as right as a trivet, and if there’s one thing we want to deliver, it’s a diverse experience. So, your written request is our pleasure to fulfil; let’s try this one, which has a lot of interesting people associated with it.
Lisa Bouchelle has a notable musical CV; she has sung backup for Bruce Springsteen, dueted in concert with Jon Bon Jovi, and has toured with and/or opened for The Wallflowers, Train, Blues Traveler, Jason Mraz, Colby Caillat, Bryan Adams, Don Felder of The Eagles, Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze, Steve Miller, Shooter Jennings, and The Wailers, among others. She is currently putting the finishing touches on her new album, set for a 2026 release which features guests such as Grammy winner Amanda Shires on violin, Grammy winner Lary Campbell on banjo and mandolin, Clay Cook from the Zac Brown Band on guitar, Waddy Wachtel on guitar, Doyle Grisham from Jimmy Buffet’s Coral Reefer Band on pedal steel, Rich Scannella from Tonic on drums, and Hal B. Selzer from Joan Jett & The Blackhearts on bass, among others.
On Make This World Stand Still, the new single in advance of the album, it is Amanda Shire’s that features adding a sensitive fiddle accompaniment to a song that captures an intense and emotional passion that might just bring Roy Orbison to mind.
