The Attention Seekers from Newcastle don’t have a band name which does them justice given we are very happy to seek their attention! And they have a new song out now about which songwriter Alan Fish told us: “Every now and then, I have a major tidy-up and a re-listening to old ideas, and every now and then, inspiration arrives and breathes new life into a half-finished song. It Doesn’t Happen Every Day dates back to 2001, but it never got off the ground back then. With my 40th wedding anniversary on the horizon, I was determined to get this one over the line, and here it is, finished at long last.”
Eagle-eared readers might spot the said subject of this song is a familiar face around these parts. As always, it was recorded at Newcastle’s Cluny Studio with Fish on vocals, guitars and bass along with production duties, Tony Davis (who engineered the track) on keyboards and backing vocals, and Trevor Brewis on drums. It’s available to stream/download from all the usual platforms from next month.
