Something for the weekend: Son Volt “If I Could”

Well that’s it from us for this week and we leave you dear reader with a new song from alt-country heroes/pioneers/stalwarts/choose your own noun Son Volt whose latest album Sound Signal Serenades was physically released on Record Store Day back in April. The album features 12 original songs that were exclusively released through the Electro Melodier Society in 2025 in the form of 3000 copies pressed on RSD-exclusive Opaque Sky Blue Vinyl. If I Could is essentially a rousing protest song against xenophobia and inequality which the band were never particularly known for previously but hey, a sign of the times.

Don’t forget about our 25 year anniversary event in November which takes place across 2 stages in Liverpool at the end of November and features Chuck Prophet and Steve Wynn among others. Tickets are available from this link.

Take care, don’t forget Palestine and keep fighting those fascists. See you next week.
