We have, we know, mentioned this before but it probably bears repetition – The Brothers Comatose are depicted above and as the observant may have already noticed they are actually quite unlikely to be a band of five brothers. And in fact this is the exact case – the band line-up is Addie Levy on vocals and mandolin, Philip Brezina on violin, Steve Height on upright bass and then the actual brothers Ben and Alex Morrison.
Singer-songwriter Ben Morrison says of today’s “We wrote this song with our good friend Melody Walker – Grammy award winning songwriter who collaborated with Sierra Ferrell on American Dreamin. We all sat around in Addie’s living room in Nashville, TN and got to work on this tune. We decided we wanted to have a more messagy and uplifting tune and a few hours later, we emerged with High Hoping. It’s the first time we’ve done such a large collaboration on a song and we’re stoked on the way it came together.“
The band say that their ethos has always been simple: “You’re here, we’re here, let’s party!” And they’ll be taking that attitude out on tour across Europe, prior to heading home to the States for a tour there through September. Their UK dates are:
Sep 1 – Night & Day Cafe – Manchester, England
Sep 2 – Bush Hall – Shepherds Bush, UK
Sep 3 – The Assembly – Royal Leamington Spa, UK
