Paddy Nash “Rapture Song” – Listen

Derry’s Paddy Nash has a new single out – ‘Rapture Song‘ – in fact it’s been out for a little while, as it was the potential antidote to Blue Monday (the third Monday of the year and allegedly the saddest day of the year).  So we’re late – no big surprise there.  But we had to do it – Paddy Nash came to us in a dream and whispered “how’s about that song feature then?” and we guiltily acknowledged that we did indeed have to do something about that.

Funny things dreams, because Paddy Nash was similarly instructed by no less than the Boss to release ‘Rapture Song‘, when he encountered him at the AmericanaFest when he was out drinking with Billy Bragg and Ralph Mclean.  You can hear the whole story here .  So, ‘Rapture Song‘ – it’s a song about dreams, right?  Wrong.  It’s a song about the joys of an enduring love.  Of course.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
