Waxahatchee covers Lucinda Williams, Dolly Parton and Springsteen – Listen

Waxahatchee is one of those artists who flew under the radar of our humble site until fairly recently. Her album Saint Cloud, featured in a number of end of year lists for 2020, and over the weekend just gone, Waxa herself aka Katie Crutchfield celebrated the record’s first anniversary with a livestream performance of it. And now she’s releasing a deluxe edition of the album, which features three new covers which you can hear below – Lucinda Williams’ ‘Fruits Of My Labor’, Dolly Parton’s ‘Light Of A Clear Blue Morning’, and Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Streets Of Philadelphia’.

‘Fruits of My Labor’ was recorded during the original sessions for ‘Saint Cloud’, while the other two tracks were recorded in recent months. All are produced by Crutchfield alongside Brad Cook, and mixed by Johnathan Low and Jarvis Taveniere. The expanded version of the album, entitled ‘Saint Cloud +3’, is out now.
