Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real “Leave ‘Em Behind” – Listen

The second track released in advance of the second album ‘A Few Stars Apart‘ by Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, and it’s a classic advice song for those in bad relationships: “if you really love yourself you’ve got to leave ’em behind.”  Lukas Nelson, though, has explained that it’s not general advice at all, but came from a personal connection “I wrote it about a friend who was in an abusive relationship…and as we saw the domestic abuse numbers climb during the pandemic, I was moved to write this song.”
