Annie Dressner “Midnight Bus” – Listen

Today’s new song comes from Annie Dressner’s latest album ‘Coffee At the Corner Bar‘ which was released last month.  You’d never know it from the full sound but it’s a lockdown album – Annie Dressner recorded it at home with her husband Paul Goodwin producing.Midnight Bus‘ is a co-write with Matthew Caws of Nada Surf, who also adds vocals.  It’s a song of literal drifting, reflections on connections made whilst a chill wind blows mirroring an internal chill of self-doubt.  Shoegazey-folk for these Autumnal leaden skies and early arriving evenings.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
