AUK writer Paul Russell begins new music spot on Times Radio – tonight!

Well it’s Friday and we’re delighted to announce that one of our very own writers, Paul Russell, will be starting a monthly music slot on Times Radio, with presenter and former culture minister Ed Vaizey, on his Friday night programme that airs between 7pm and 10pm each week. Paul is a music fanatic, a regular radio broadcaster, a podcast producer and has worked in the radio business for over 25 years. Each month he’ll choose a musical Unsung Hero, putting a spotlight on an artist he feels doesn’t get the recognition they deserve; he’ll preview a future tour or gig from around the UK that we should be going to; and he’ll highlight a new album he adores.

Times Radio has been steadily growing its audience since its launch in June 2020 and latest figures saw record listening hours numbers for the speech station. This new music slot will incorporate some of the great music championed by Americana UK with Paul adding his own idiosyncratic style to make for a monthly must-listen for all music fans. Times Radio is available to listen to via your DAB radio which you can never get a signal on, smart speaker, a companion app or online – more details here. Good luck Paul!
