Logan Richard is one of music’s rarest creatures—a compelling and diverse songwriter who shreds. The Prince Edward Island born-and-based artist has been sharpening both skills since he first picked up the guitar as a pre-teen – inspired by fast blues guitarists hit the stage at just 12 years old, cutting his teeth playing gigs around the island with a blues group filled out by his fellow young peers. His other musical path is as a more acoustic troubadour – as on ‘Roledex‘ a song inspired by his brother asking if he had someone’s number in his Rolodex – as Richard explains “I had no idea what a Rolodex was at the time, so my brother told me and then I wrote the word down. I challenged myself to make a song about it, and this is what came.”
Americana UK caught Richard at the AMAUK showcases earlier this year, and he has gone on to recently showcase in Montreal for Folk Alliance International in February. ‘Rolodex’ is taken from the album ‘Character Traits‘ which is out May 23rd on Outside Music.
