Bedouine, the project of LA-based musician Azniv Korkejian, releases her new album, Neon Summer Skin, on 5th June 2026 via Thirty Tigers. Across Neon Summer Skin, Korkejian intentionally returned to the instruments she played as a child. Written with intimate imagery after visiting her family in Saudi Arabia, Neon Summer Skin tells the story of family and upbringing. Throughout, Korkejian mourns the end of her childhood and reflects on feeling a sense of safety long before one can fully understand its meaning. An album of hope as much as loss, it’s about searching for home and building it within yourself.
Bedouine co-produced most of Neon Summer Skin with her longtime collaborator, Gus Seyffert, and wrote with the sweet pop melodies of Todd Rundgren, Karen Carpenter, and Carole King in mind. She also worked on a couple of tracks with producer Jonathan Rado and Michael and Brian D’Addario of the Lemon Twigs. The record features trumpet, flute, swooping string arrangements and organ. You can pre-order Neon Summer Time via this link.
The latest single is Always On Time, which finds her taking a seat at the piano. Its waltzing melody and lush strings and synths reflect the warmth of Korkejian’s reassuring lyrics: “If you feel the trouble’s all around // The trouble’s drawn around // Someone else’s frown //It’s fine //We’re always on time.”
Commenting on the track, Korkejian says, “Always on Time is about accepting the unfolding of your own timeline rather than comparing it to where you think you’re supposed to be. Especially as it pertains to major milestones like starting a family or succeeding in your career. It was a reminder to myself that everyone has their own way of doing things, and there’s no right or wrong way to go about it. The video reflects that by portraying me losing something meaningful and setting out to find it. I get distracted along the way, but try to enjoy the journey while carrying the concern of what I’ve lost.”
