Bob Dylan “Going, Going, Gone” – well, this seems apt

One of our occasional thought-for-the-day songs – and history is happening all around us with a new pub quiz answer having arrived in the shape of a resignation announced yesterday.  And, as ever, Dylan has an appropriate song for us to ponder the changing of the seasons.

I’ve just reached a place
Where the willow don’t bend
There’s not much more to be said
It’s the top of the end
I’m going
I’m going
I’m gone”

And to also consider that now being prime minister is a job that is equivalent to filling a temporary vacancy…let’s hope the next incumbent addresses critical supply-side issues, starting with the pitiful shortage of Dylan concert tickets….

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?

Shortage of tickets? I’ve mine ,or at least on my phone to be locked away on entry, for Cardiff next Wednesday.
