Carrie Clark & The Lonesome Lovers “Heroes And Heartbreakers” – We don’t need a Prince to save us

On this song from Carrie Clark’s new album ‘Split at the Seams‘ (which was released last Friday) the roots rocking suggestion is that it’s time to do away with fairy tales and instead take a bolder stance.  This is in a broader sphere than just the romantic, as Clark sings: “This world’s worth saving and our girls are going to show you how – power up our girls.

Speaking to Americana UK, Carrie Clark explained her thoughts on the ‘Heroes and Heartbreakers‘: “I wrote this song to inspire young girls, ladies and women of our world to power up in the form of positivity love and strength. We need to inspire and encourage each other and to use our voices and ideas to help lead our world into a better place. A portion of this song’s sales will be donated to Seattle non-profit organizations, Rain City Rock Camp and the Rainier Dance Center. Both organizations work to support, empower and inspire young girls, young women and youth that identify as female within our community.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
