Charles Ellsworth “Blessed” – Listen

Charles Ellsworth has seen through the tattered veil that clothes the American dream, and it has led to a plea for a renewal based on something more tangible and anchored in actual equality.  As he sings on ‘Blessed’: “could someone else bless the US of A? / ‘Cos the god I was taught is a scapegoat for hate.”  Then goes on to ask another favour: “could someone come save this stolen land that I love?  From men who just see dollar signs under dust.”

Blessed‘ is taken from the new album ‘Honeysuckle Summer‘ which Ellsworth managed to record  with a full band just as Covid hit – it’ll be released  on March the 5th 2021.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
