Hi Guys
From ireland here, living just north of Dublin. Looking forward to getting new music recommendations from this forum. Currently listening a lot to The Delines having seen them in Dublin recently and Patterson Hood - going to see them in Dublin on Monday night.
Big Springsteen fan. I know he’s not strictly Americana but i think he crosses over regularly.
Hi Anthony, there's plenty of Springsteen content on the AUK website. Whether he's Americana, well, that's a whole other topic perhaps.
Mornin' all (yikes, it's afternoon!) Lichfield here, reporting in for pleasure. As much folkie as americana, but you're a trusting community, I'll hope. Listening to the 2fer1 re-release of the first 2 McGarrigles releases as I write, which I think is pretty damn serendipitous.
@retropath2 Hi there, greetings from the South Coast!
I used to live near Walsall in the mid 90's, I had friends in Brownhills/Burntwood area. Had some good times up there! Especially going to see bands at the Wolves Civic.

The first two McGarrigles albums (the first in particular) are brilliant. AUK's Alan Fitter wrote about it here
@paul-kerr I think the new "Electric" disc with the Nebraska reissue proves that Bruce was Americana before it was even a phrase used with music and a few years ahead of his time (I don't think people would have understood it back then) if only for this album. On your second point, there is few things on AMUK that also aren't "Americana" and some missed too, but then again we are we to judge what is or isn't?
