Here's one for AUK's editor Mark really but given that all of us here are Guardian readers, any thoughts on Alexis Petridis' selection of Aimee's songs? https://www.theguardian.com/music/2025/nov/06/aimee-mann-greatest-songs-ranked
Thanks Paul. Good list although ludicrous to just have one track from "The Forgotten Arm" other than the whole thing's such a masterpiece maybe it'd be pointless to try to choose. I would also add:
I don’t think I’ve ever heard an Aimee Mann song in my life. I think I might be embarrassed to admit to all the acts I think should have heard, but haven’t; and all the acts I barely know who I also think I should have. Maybe that’s another thread
two sips from the cup of human kindness and I'm shitfaced...
She seems to fly under the radar a lot still Charlie, I think a lot of people aren't familiar with her stuff

Could I just point out that The Guardian is a right wing rag...
The only Aimee Man song that resonates with me, unfortunately. Principly because it annoys everyone I know who insist on playing festive tunes about now

Definitely agree with this! I think 'Save Me' was an excellent choice for #1, although how they could include it not mention that fact it plays over one of the greatest endings in cinema history baffles me.
Still one of my favourite films of all time Helen! Oh and Paul you'll be delighted to know Aimee Mann recorded a whole album of Christmas songs.
Speaking of Aimee, she just recorded a cover of the Carpenters' 'Rainy Days and Mondays' for the excellent TV series The Chair Company.
What an amazing cover Helen. Am 3 episodes into the Chair Company and very confused 🙈
4th of July without doubt
And The Chair Company is very intriguing
