Embla And The Karidotters “Bluebird” – Blue Birds, Blue Moons, no Blues

So, what is this?  Country Rock Tuesday?  Maybe it is.  Certainly ‘Bluebird‘ from Norwegian band Embla And The Karidotters has a strong country rock feel that includes a shake of Southern Rock guitar breaks – and again without all the bad side of Southern Rock imagery.  Far from it – as Embla explains about the song: “The vibe I was after was that of the band being a team of scouts sitting in the forest, singing this song around the campfire. It is supposed to be a song about unity and that you have to work for the good things in life, especially when things are tough.”  What a brilliant, inclusive and hey positive sentiment, with no “weird” stuff.  That is indeed what we like.  Y’all.

Bluebird‘ is taken from the new album ‘Off Leash‘ which was unleashed on August 23 on Die With Your Boots On Records.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
