Eric & The Soo “Last Forever” – here’s the spoiler, nothing lasts forever

We’ve had the opportunity to feature the music of Ontario’s Eric Brombacher in several of his recording guises, this latest song is once more as Eric & The Soo with bandmates Dino Naccarato (drums), Ken Yoshioka (guitar) and Tim Bradford (bass) whilst Eric takes the piano part – an unusual selection for him, he tells us.  ‘Last Forever’ is a ballad which suggests that actually things don’t always last forever: “I believe that love can last forever…but it don’t always work that way.

The song’s inspiration came not from real life but from ’70’s and ’80’s hard rock bands.  The kind of bands that slipped a ballad in somewhere towards the end of one side of the album to give them a radio friendly hit single that was completely unlike everything else they’d recorded.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
