Erin Rae “Cosmic Sigh” – Feeling connected to the Universe

If Erin Rae just had that wonderful voice that would be something, but she’s also a fine songwriter and ‘Cosmic Sigh‘ brings the echoes of the Great American Songbook to bear on a song that’s continually of danger of drifting through the atmosphere and out, out into the untrammelled realms of space.  It’s a song full of gentle hope and optimism.

Erin Rae’s new album ‘Lighten Up‘ is out on February 4th via Thirty Tigers/Good Memory.  It was produced by Jonathan Wilson and features guest appearances by Hand Habits and Kevin Morby.  Can you believe that it is three since the release of Erin Rae’s debut ‘Putting On Airs’?  Worth checking out if you haven’t yet.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
