Lockdown continues. Although we’re apart, we’re all in this together. One of the things music lovers are missing is the opportunity to go out and see live shows. To help make up for that, we are regularly posting ‘mini-gigs’ recorded at home by great artists. Today, we bring you two songs from My Girl The River, both taken from their forthcoming album, ‘Cardinal in the Snow’, due out on 1st May.
The first song is the current single, ‘I Try’, which is a woman’s confession about always trying to do the right thing for everyone around her. My Girl The River are a family band with Louisville-native Kris Wilkinson on guitar and vocals, Joe Hughes on bass and writing duties and daughter, Ruby, providing harmonies and ukulele. Unsurprisingly, their performance and harmonies are close, tight and warm. Lovely stuff.
As Wilkinson says: “We’re in strange times, so it’s nice to be able to bring you a bit of live music…Take good care. Be well. Be safe.”
