Golden Oak “Geese” – Our pastoral perfection, imagined

Photo: Heather Becca Haydu

Golden Oak is an indie/folk band based out of Portland, Maine, and fronted by siblings Zak and Lena Kendall, with up-right bassist Mike Knowles and Drummer Jackson Cromwell completing the line-up.  On ‘Geese‘ they contemplate the difficulties of finding  a community of likeminded people in one’s twenties, a time of life when old bonds get fractured as friends make their separate ways  into the world.

Geese‘ is taken from Golden Oak’s new album ‘Room to Grow‘ which is out on June 25th.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?

Geese isn’t on Room to Grow. Room to Grow was released in 2021.
