House Above The Sun “Sacrament Of Now”

There’s something of The Divine Comedy in feel on ‘Sacrament Of Now‘ the first single by London’s House Above The Sun since their 2020 release of the EP ‘Time I Got Goin’‘.  It’s not, they are at pains to point out, a covid song as such, although the themes of neither looking to the past for the great times gone by nor yet looking to the future with the optimism that all that is fine will be found there and instead taking just what is good right now perhaps do reflect on the times in which it was written and recorded – the Summer of 2021.   Living in the moment, one could say.

House Above The Sun are songwriter and lead vocalist Jim Moreton (vocals/guitar/piano), Ariel Moreton (vocals and percussion), Davide Mongirulli (drums), Jack Neale (bass) and David Atkinson (lap steel).

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
