Art work for India Ramey "Baptised By The Blaze"India Ramey’s bio isn’t for the faint of heart.  A domestic violence survivor, she graduated college, got a law degree and became a domestic violence prosecutor.  Despite this, Ramey’s love for music won in the end. She gave up her law career to become a full-time musician and songwriter. Her previous record, “Shallow Graves”, which was reviewed here in August 2020, was something of a breakthrough.  But its issue was followed by Ramey’s struggle to get off the tranquilisers she’d been taking over 12 years for a panic disorder rooted in childhood trauma.

Her battle was ultimately successful and lies at the heart of her new album “Baptized By The Blaze” which is scheduled for European release on Mule Kick Records on 13th September 2024 although it is scheduled to appear on streaming platforms from 23rd August 2024. Ramey says of the new album: “This is my empowerment album.  I want to empower people to be their strong, authentic selves. That’s what “Baptized By The Blaze” did for me.”  The record was Produced, mixed and mastered by Luke Wooten at Station West Studios.

A video of the title track has been released and you can watch it here.
