Jonah Kagen “You Again” – like a bad penny?

Jonah Kagen’s debut album is put today, it’s called “Sunflowers And Leather” and this song, ‘You Again‘, is the most recent single from it.  Jonah Kagen took a big life swerve when a relationship ended – he left Miami and took off on a road trip that lasted…well not that long at first.  Having returned to his parents in South Carolina, he bought a truck and a brand-new Airstream trailer and set off for Montana – and almost immediately got into a car wreck.  Undeterred he tried again with a battered car and an aged Airstream, which is where he recorded “Sunflowers And Leather” as songs came to him with the travel and time to reflect on how things in his life had unfolded.

Speaking of  ‘You Again‘ Kagen says: “My relationship in Miami skewed my vision of intimacy and affection,” he says. “After that, I was by myself for a whole year, just me and my dog, and I found that every time I would try to get back out there or engage with someone, I’d get that awful feeling again. And that was what I wrote about.”

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
