Whe Neil Young announced a series of UK dates following his triumph in Hyde Park and other venues last year fans could not believe their luck and despite knowing that Ol’ Gringo turned 80 last month were licking their lips with anticipation but all that joy has turned to disappointment this week as Young announced through his Archives website that he would not be retruning to the UK (this year at least) with the Chrome Hearts. Increasingly politically active, fighting the Trump-led swing towards fascism in the US (see his website), Young does not give a reason for the cancellation in a very brief statement:
“I have decided to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets. I’m sorry to let you down, but this is not the time. I do love playing live and being with you and the Chrome Hearts.” NY Feb 2026
The cancelled dates in the UK are listed below, and some ticket holders are already reporting refunds being offered. If in doubt, contact your ticket supplier.
June 17: Cornwall Eden Project, UK
June 19: Manchester Heaton Park, UK
June 27: Chelmsford Hylands Park, UK
June 29: Glasgow Bellahouston Park, UK
July 3: Blenheim Palace Festival, UK
July 5: Cardiff Blackweir Fields, Wales
What a shame, but here’s a crumb of comfort in the shape of the recently released track Birds from 1970
