Nick Lowe has been busy lately.  On 13th September 2024 he released his latest album, his first of original material in 10 years, “Indoor Safari”.  Reviewing it for AUK, Graeme Tait wrote: “Nick Lowe may now be in his 75th year but, with plenty of credit to Los Straitjackets, he has re-found his rock ‘n’ roll heart.”  Later that month he played a series of dates in the UK and Ireland including a showcase at the London Palladium.  On many of these he was backed by Los Straitjackets. Now more tour dates have been announced – this time in February 2025, once again with the masked surf rockers of Los Straitjackets behind him.

Since releasing 2013’s “Quality Street: A Seasonal Selection for all the Family” – Lowe has toured three continents with Los Straitjackets, recording a series of rapid-fire singles and EPs along the way. In time-honoured fashion, he has kept fine-tuning those songs and coming up with new ones. With help from Alex Hall “they all sound of a piece” now says Lowe, adding that with the old Straitjacket magic “hey, presto, you’ve got the sauce on it all.”

Currently, Lowe and Los Straitjackets are bringing “Indoor Safari” across North America through the end of the year.  The remaining North American shows will cap an exciting 2024 for Lowe who marked the album’s release, and his 75th birthday, with an extensive profile on PBS Newshour in the US recently.  He also recently joined the podcast Questlove Supreme, to discuss the road to “Indoor Safari”, his impact on UK punk and new wave, an unexpected second-act partnership with Los Straitjackets and much more.

There are currently five dates set for February 2005 which are listed below.  Tickets can be found here.  As a taster for what’s to come you can see below their performance of ‘Lately I’ve Let Things Slide‘ recorded at Manchester’s Ritzy on 29th September 2024
