Our new playlist of the best new Americana we’ve heard over the last month is out later today exclusively for AUK supporters which includes new tracks by Chris Shifflett, Jerry Leger, Margo Price, The Menzingers and Michele Stodart among others, and if you’re one of our supporters, this month you can win tickets to see ACM-nominated recording artist Sunny Sweeney who is returning to UK shores next week for tour dates, kicking off in Newcastle’s Cluny before winding its way around the four nations.

Renowned for her entertaining live shows,  Sweeney errs on the country-country borderline for us but hey, Entertainment Focus picked Sweeney’s set in its iconic moments of The Long Road Festival 2022, praising her “warmth, class, style and devastating humour” and Lonesome Highway in its 15 of the best from Americanafest 2022 said she was “sassy, funny and in splendid voice throughout.” And we are always big fans of sassy, funny and splendid.

Sunny Sweeney is a country and Americana artist from Texas, currently based in Nashville, TN. Her latest album ‘Married Alone’ is described as “a raw, vulnerable exploration of loss, grief, and healing” – recorded in Dallas, TX, it was co-produced by fellow country artist Paul Cauthen and The Texas Gentlemen’s Beau Bedford.
