We’re also giving away a copy of the new Paul Kelly album “Seventy” out today!
Our new playlist of the best new Americana we’ve heard over the last month is out later today exclusively for AUK supporters which includes new tracks by Michael Weston King, Paul Kelly, Neko Case, Jerry Leger and Neal Casal among others – as always we trawl through the best Americana we’ve heard recently so you don’t have to. And our giveaway this month is two tickets for one supporter to see GRAMMY-winning guitarist Tommy Emmanuel who recently released “Living In The Light”, his first solo album in ten years. Recorded and mixed with producer Vance Powell (Jack White, Chris Stapleton, Phish), the new record is describe as a virtuosic blend of acoustic, jazz, classical, and roots music delivered by one of the modern era’s most accomplished and versatile guitarists. The album release comes with the video for Emmanuel’s rendition of the Sharon O’Neill hit “Maxine,” which you can watch below. “This song was a big hit in Australia in the 80s,” says Emmanuel. “The composer, Sharon O’Neil, is an old friend with a gift for storytelling.” In celebration of the release of his new album, Emmanuel will tour extensively, including UK dates in January 2026 as noted below. Head here for tickets.
In keeping with the down under theme, we’re also giving away a copy of the new album by Australiana royalty Paul Kelly “Seventy” which is out today and which we reviewed ealier this week, describing it as “both an accurate summation of Kelly’s musical journey so far and a perfect indicator that this master songsmith is still very much at the top of his game.”
You can become an AUK supporter for as little as £2.99 a month for which princely sum you will receive a monthly exclusive supporters playlist along with being entered into our monthly prize draw.
