Paul Bond “Sunset Blues” – Guitar and vocal folk perfection

Oh, there’s some joyful singer-songwriter perfection on ‘Sunset Blues‘ which is a new single by Paul Bond.  There’s a definite gentle James Taylor feeling to it, and shows Paul Bond making his own music having previously releasing two full-length albums, an EP, a vinyl 7” and several singles with his band Dandelion.  He also plays piano for VanWyck, which is a recommendation in itself.

Bond has an MA degree in English Literary Studies and Philosophy, and he finds that his lyrics are
inspired by literary forces such as Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ezra Pound.  American modernism in particular and the expatriates that inhabited in Paris in the ‘20s are great sources of inspiration.  Paul Bond notes that ‘Sunset Blues‘ deals with the big changes in life – and in Bonds case that was becoming a father.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
