Pete Bruntnell back on the road with a new single and lots of dates

AUK favourite, album of the year winner and all round nice guy Peter Bruntnell has released a new video ahead of his upcoming UK tour dates. The Byrds-y sounding ‘No Place Like Home‘ is the third single to be taken from Peter’s 2024 album, “Houdini And The Sucker Punch”, and is one of Peter’s favourite songs on the record.

The video footage was filmed during 2023’s US tour opening for Son Volt, with Son Volt’s Jay Farrar and Mark Spencer going on to contribute to Pete’s “Houdini And The Sucker Punch”, alongside Son Volt alumni Eric Heywood and James Walbourne. The aforementioned album garnered all the predictably pleasing praise of Pete’s previous albums, with a handful of writers suggesting that it’s on a par with, or perhaps even surpasses, Peter’s 1999 alt-country classic “Normal For Bridgwater”, with it going on to feature in several End of Year lists, including being voted Americana UK Reader’s No.1 Album of The Year and No.4 in Mojo Magazine’s Top Americana Albums of 2024.

Peter and his band hit the road this week for a handful of UK shows, ahead of Peter heading out on tour with The Delines. May sees Peter and his bass player Peter Noone joined by pedal steel player Iain Sloan for a couple of Scottish dates, then more full band shows in Barnoldswick, London and Brighton, the latter two of which will have Joana Serrat opening. Festival slots include Ramblin’ Roots Revue and over to Germany for Static Roots.

Riding the one eyed horse into dead town the scales fell from his eyes. Music was the only true god at once profane and divine The dust blew through his mind as he considered the offering... And then he scored it out of ten and waited for the world to wake up
