Peter Case “Downtown Nowhere’s Blues” – street life observed

Peter Case has a storied career, from punk to acoustic rock and all points in-between.  There’s an appreciation of the man here if you need to catch up.  Today’s song has a rollicking piano accompaniment which should come as no real surprise as Case explains “I grew up on 1950s and ‘60s rock & roll, jazz, classical and folk.  I learned how to play blues as a kid, street singing in San Francisco and then was part of the punk rock movement. It’s all still in there; it’s my musical DNA.

Downtown Nowhere’s Blues‘ comes from Case’s new album, his 16th.  It’s called ‘Doctor Moan‘ and is out on  Sunset Blvd Records on March 31st.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
