Rainn Byrns “Never Ending Story” – no dragons mentioned, honest

How better to start the week than with a song that focuses on the endless pointless repetition of life, with the same old same old coming around again.  And again.  And, yes, yet again.  Perfect for a Monday morning.  Rainn Byrns is a Peckham based, Swindon raised, Texas born multi-instrumentalist.  On this song, recorded at his home studio, Rainn plays all the instruments and of course oversaw the recording onto, naturally, analogue only equipment.  The song veers between depressed verses and a pick-yourself up chorus, acting as Rainn explains as “the embodiment of giving up, but then there’s a freedom to that, when all is said and done. When you relinquish any expectations you can sometimes surprise yourself!”

Never Ending Story‘ is the follow-up single to Rainn Byrns’ debut EP ‘Country Living’, which was released in the Autumn of 2021.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
