Ramblin’ Roots celebrates its ninth year with best line up yet! Discuss…

Clubhouse Records, Inside Out Talent and Empty Room Promotions all conspire together to bring The Ramblin’ Roots Revue to High Wycombe every year. It has become, for many, one of the UK’s most eagerly anticipated and best loved weekends of americana, roots and alt-country in the musical calendar. And this year, the lineup is very strong, featuring as it does Ward Thomas, Pete Bruntnell, Danny and the Champions of the World and The Hanging Stars, to name but a few. Early bird tickets sold out within twenty-four hours, and Tier 1 tickets for the whole weekend are also now sold out.

Tristan Tipping of Clubhouse Records states: “It’s a brilliant line-up for the next Ramblin’ Roots Revue, we have been blown away by the response to the tickets! We’re starting to see attendances equivalent to those we experienced pre-pandemic, and we are incredibly grateful for the loyal support we receive. It’s a become a bit of a community, it’s such a great weekend and we’re really excited for this year. Last year’s event was a huge success full of fantastic live performances by over 30 bands and artistes from across the UK, USA, Canada and mainland Europe, with an incredibly friendly vibe and a fair few late-night shenanigans! ”

Hannah White, this year’s winner of the AMAUK Artist and Album of the Year awards adds:For lovers of real roots music and for people who want to hang-out with the friendliest fellow music fans (basically the best people on earth) the full Ramblin’ Roots weekend is unmissable. Every year the guys manage to book a phenomenal line-up. Band after band, great roots music with some you’ll know but always music to discover! After the live shows you can dance the night away to DJs…and the official, unofficial after parties (singing-along to folk songs) are an ‘everyone’s invited’ affair where friendships are formed and memories made. As an artist I’ve played them all and there is no other festival like it! Everyone who goes once, will always come back!”

The Ramblin’ Roots Revue is all held in Bucks Students’ Union’s award-winning venue which is holder of a Platinum standard “Best Bar None” accreditation for customer service and corporate social responsibility and has previously been recognised as promoting the leading live music provision in UK Higher Education. And to top it off all acts on the two main stages are programmed so you needn’t miss a single note! Throughout the weekend you can be assured of staying warm and dry, with feet on firm ground and never further than 20m from key facilities including the stages, bar, toilets or BBQ. There’s free parking on site and leading hotel chains are  just across the road. So far confirmed as performing this year:

Ward Thomas / The Hanging Stars / Danny & The Champions of the World / Peter Bruntnell / The Dreaming Spires / Ren Harvieu & Romeo Stodart / The Rosellys / Orphan Colours / The Autumn Saints / Annie Keating / Jerry Leger / Bobby Lee & Joe Harvey White / Trevor Moss & Hannah-Lou / The Southern Fold / The Breeze / Simeon Hammond Dallas Rachel Laven / Sorrel Nation / Hannah Scott / Elaine Palmer / The Marriage / Roseanne Reid / Savannah Gardner / Sarah Jane Scouten / Katie Whittaker / Jol Rose

Joining the line up will be three further acts picked from the Americana Music Association UK application process. There is also the small matter of ‘Rolling Thunder – The Clubhouse All-Stars tribute to the genius of Bob Dylan’ which will close out the Saturday night of the revue, with a host of guest singers taking the stage to honour the great man.

Tier Two Full Weekend Tickets are available here. Day tickets will be available later in February. Here’s a taste of last year’s festival.
