Something for the weekend: Blitzen Trapper “Upon the Chain”

Well that’s it from us for another week dearest of reader. I have been listening in the rare spare minutes I have had in recent days to the new album by Blitzen Trapper and reminiscing on just what a fantastic Americana band they are, great melodies and sonically always innovative and interesting. We recently reviewed their eleventh album “100s of 100s, Millions of Billions”, in which the Oregon band continue their exploration of Buddhist teachings and how they inform our existence. ‘Upon the Chain’ is a highlight of the whole record with its naturalistic imagery and engaging wordplay: “Don’t ask the wind just where it blows, for it knows That there’s room enough for us upon the chain”. See you at the national Palestine demo tomorrow in London if you can make it, and if not please support your local action if you can this weekend – details here. Take care and have a good one.
