Well that’s it from us for this week, an exciting day for us as we announce full details for our 25 year event which takes place in Liverpool later this year – you can find more details here. In the meantime, we leave you dear reader with a superb new cover version of a classic song by World Party courtesy of Mary Chapin Carpenter and The Mountain Goats who have released a collaborative version of Put the Message in the Box. It’s being released as a split single with Christine Fellows’ Migrations via Bandcamp, and is produced by Matt Douglas. Just a reminder really of what an amazing songwriter the late Karl Wallinger was.

Carpenter commented: “John Darnielle and I have been friends for many years now; he’s been a dedicated correspondent and ally in all topics connected to songwriting, recording, touring and the balancing act that a life involving these pursuits requires. He also very kindly joined me in conversation on my podcast a few years back to talk about hope — what it means to him, what it looks like from where he stands, and the challenges of maintaining it in the times we are living in. To have collaborated on these two favorite songs with John and the Mountain Goats has been a joy and a gift — joining our voices, singing these words from other favorite artists, and feeling the music deeply.”

Vinyl versions will soon be available for pre-order from this link. Take care, don’t forget Palestine and keep fighting those fascists. See you next week.
