We are mightily delighted to announce today full details for Americana 25, our celebration of 25 years of Americana UK which comes to two stages across Liverpool’s Rough Trade venue and Quaker Meeting House on Saturday November 28th. Headlining the event will be an exclusive UK performance from Chuck Propet and the Echo Strings, featuring a four-piece string quartet, so you can hear Chuck’s songs like you have never heard them before. Also on the bill is legendary singer, musician and songwriter Steve Wynn, formerly of The Dream Syndicate, Newcastle-based bluegrass band The Often Herd and Scotland’s Dean Owens who recently recorded a much praised album with Calexico. There’s music too from Utah’s Drew Danburry who makes his way over to the UK for the first time in over a decade, plus some of the best homegrown americana from classic names we have featured here on AUK over the years including Danny George Wilson, Peter Bruntnell, Our Man in the Field, Smalltown Jones, Elaine Palmer, My Girl the River and Ella Spencer, and music of course from Liverpool’s own Barry Jones.
We are aiming to keep ticket prices low so they’re accessible for everyone. However, 100% of profits from the event will go to our two chosen charities, the American Civil Liberties Union and Medical Aid for Palestinians, and so while the headline ticket price is £38, there is a solidarity ticket price of £48 for those who can afford it. Either way, with the event running from 1pm-11pm we hope you’ll agree it’s great value for a whole day’s entertainment. Tickets will go on sale at 10am on Friday 3rd April. We really hope you can join us there

Fabulous!!
A fab line-up that deserves support. I really hope to make the trip over from rural Lincolnshire for this great looking Festival.
I’m about to set off to Kirton Lindsey to see tonight’s gig “The Often Herd” …. one of the acts booked for your festival.
