Something for the weekend: Octoberman “Harry Nilsson”

Well that’s it from us for another week dear reader. It’s release day for the new Icarus Phoenix extended Deluxe version of “I Should Have Known the Things You Never Said” which contains almost four times the number of songs on the original release – it’s effectively a new album which warrants re-review, so we did! I can heartily recommend it. I have to also give a shout out to UK americana act Michael Weston King who as many of you will know experienced a well-publicised unimaginable tragedy last year and whose comments this week made the front page of The Guardian today – that he’s stuck his head above the parapet to make such an important point is beyond admirable. Our thoughts remain with him and his family.

In that vein, it felt appropriate to leave you this week with the new single from Toronto-via-Vancouver indie folk-rockers Octoberman – ‘Harry Nilsson,’ is the latest track to be released from their upcoming seventh album “Chutes”, which arrives on August 27th on Ishmalia Records. Frontman Marc Morrissette commented on the track:  “I had recently lost my mother, so I was hyper-aware of mortality and how things can turn on a dime. Losing an ever-present person in your life makes you more afraid of it happening again, especially as a father and husband. In the end, it’s like losing a part of yourself that never comes back.”

Take care everyone, don’t forget Palestine and keep fighting the fascists. See you on Monday.
