Something for the weekend: Trampled By Turtles and Yoke Lore “Fake Plastic Trees” – Live

Credit: Katie Dadarria

Well that’s it from us for another week and we leave you dear reader with a lovely clip captured at the In Between Days festival in Quincy, MA last week where Trampled By Turtles were joined by Yoke Lore on stage to cover Radiohead’s ‘Fake Plastic Trees’. It happened during the Minnesota folk band’s set on the In Between Days main stage, the stage where New York’s Yoke Lore performed a few hours prior.  The performance was part of a lively Sunday at the two-day indie music festival at Veterans Memorial Stadium, located just south of Boston which included performances by Lord Huron, Phantogram, Illiterate Light, Cautious Clay, Modest Mouse, The Beths, and Sunny Day Real Estate among others, It’s the first video we’ve ever embedded via Instagram so if it all goes pear shaped, apologies. Have a good one, whatever you’re doing.

I know of Woke Lore, though not Trampled By Turtles (before now, of course), but what captured my attention most, was the mention of Quincy, Mass. – that’s where I went to school while my father was off to Korea; there, because my mother had tons of relatives in the Boston area. A double hit, as I feel Woke Lore is – or at least should be – destined for a much wider audience, and that unexpected reminder of this Innocent abroad” in a USA no longer there.
