Son Volt recently announced the July 30th release of their tenth studio album ‘Electro Melodier’, and over the weekend they’ve released a lyric video for the track ‘Diamond and Cigarettes’ which in lovingly paying homage to Jay Farrar’s wife features harmony vocals from the always exquisite Laura Cantrell. The title of the album is taken from the names of two vintage amplifiers from the late ‘40s and early ‘50s, and touches on issues including “the pandemic, love, and the inevitable passing of time.” Which calls to mind this once legendary advert.
